"Almorò B&B" is at the third floor of a typical Venetian building. At the gound floor we have a private entrance by the water ("Rio dei Mendicanti") for guests who would prefer to arrive with a private water taxi. The staircase which lead to the apartment are in marble and are large, which makes it easier to carry the bags till our floor.

The apartment has the typical structure of a Venetian home, with a spacious and central living room with exposed wooden beams. This is the area where our guests can just relax once they have come back from their tiring walk in Venice. The rooms are around the living room, which has a superb view over the roofs of Venice and particularly over the square of San Giovanni e Paolo and the belltower of Piazza San Marco. On the left hand of the living room there is the kitchen and the breakfast room. They have the same splendid view.

It is included in the room rate and is served in the breakfast room from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. The breakfast room has the same view as the one described for the living room, which will contribute to make the stay of our guests unforgettable since their awakening. Breakfast include coffee, tea, milk, chocolate, croissants, bread, compotes, butter, juices, yogurts and corn-flakes.

"Al Morò B&B" is very conveniently situated as the position is splendid and, at the same time, strategic as it is only 5 minutes walking from Piazza San Marco, 10 minutes from Rialto bridge, and 1 minute from Fondamenta Nove boat stop. From this stop you can reach by boat in 5 minutes Murano, worldwide famous island since centuries for the glass production.

  • THE STATUE OF COLLEONI - Bartolomeo Colleoni, the famous leader, captain of a mercenary company, gave his own fortune to the Serenissima Republic provided that a statue representing himself be put in front of San Mark. A big statue in Piazza San Marco would interfere with traditions. Therefore the Senate decided very intelligently to erect the statue in front of Scuola Grande di San Marco… Touchstone of the sculpture of the beginning Renaissance art, the equestrian statue of the combative pride (1481-8) is a chef d’oeuvre of the Florentine Andrea Verrocchio. After his death, the statue was cast in bronze by Alessandro Leopardi. This monument, which communicates a strong feeling of power and movement, is considered at the same level as the works of Donatello.

  • SCUOLA GRANDE DI SAN MARCO - Not many hospitals praise a rich and unusual façade as the one of the Ospedale Civile di Venezia. Originally it was one of the six confraternities of the city. Their first seat was burnt down in 1485, but the Scuola was rebuilt at the end of the 15th century. The lovely asymmetric façade, with arches in marble and trompe l’oeil patterns, is the work of Pietro Lombardo and his sons, with the cooperation of Giovanni Buora. The major order was finished by Mauro Coducci in 1495. The inside was restored during last century and, unfortunately, most of the artistic chef d’oeuvres were lost. Visitors can admire the Library with its 16th century ceiling elegantly inlaid, as well as the hospital’s chapel, the church of San Lazzaro dei Mendicanti containing a painting of Tintoretto and another one of Veronese.

  • CHIESA DI SAN GIOVANNI E PAOLO - This church is considered at the same level as the Frari church, as the biggest Gothic churches of Venice. It was built between the 13th and 14th centuries by the Dominican (black) Friars and is surprising because of its large dimensions and the austerity of its style. Considered as the Pantheon of Venice, it shelters the monuments of 25 doges, which are quite all excellent art works by the Lombardi family and other famous sculptors of that period.
